Yeah. OK, I'm also logging out. Probably for the rest of the year. If you need me, I'm on other things.

My controversial Opinion™ is that Amsterdam is the best sneaker city I’ve visited in the past 10-15 years. And it’s not even close.

Waiting to board to go home and reflecting on the past week. PerfNowConf reminded me about how much I love conferences. It was entertaining and educational and packed with old and new friends. What a great way to spend some time.

My favorite part is that the test scores are still higher than they were in the 90s when I was in high school and I just think “are the kids behind or have we just gotten used to steadily increasing expectations on our children?” DaviSense/1584850668887900160

Today, in American absurdity: there was (another) school shooting and I found out about it from my sneaker drop app’s Twitter account.

I love this time of year where it’s time to listen to a Halloween playlist, aka Hellbilly Deluxe on repeat.

Listen. If you didn’t like this movie, I’m genuinely curious why. It’s because you don’t like women isn’t it? jefflembeck/1583643264452026368

Watching Ghostbusters (2016) and wait. People didn’t like this?!?!?!

The Jordan 1 High Element Goretex is some of the best money I’ve spent on shoes in a while. Constantly wearing them the second cold rain kicks in. I can step in a puddle and remain warm and dry

I want to write a library in TypeScript. I want my consumers to be able to npm i this thing and use it in node via cjs and esm, in a browser, or in a TS project. What's everybody's go to for this these days?

This video by the FT is an excellent breakdown of the lasting effects of Brexit thus far. Strong recommendation to watch. The Brexit effect: how leaving the EU hit the UK | FT Film youtu.be/wO2lWmgEK1Y

The Federalist, a mainstream Republican publication, is straight up calling for Fascism. This is not hyperbole. These people do not want democracy. They want minority rule. They want “revolution” MelissaRyan/1583151397906042881

My NB collection grows. 99Xs. 550s. 574s. Going to replace a wall of perfectly good and cool sneakers with expensive comfort that the fashion industry is convincing people is now cool jefflembeck/1534586884847915008

Me, playing Super Mega Baseball 3, every nine batters on my team: “Ha. Hose Tremendo…”

This has been too much baseball. Please Mariners. End this. Bottom of the 15th. Walk it off. My heart will thank you.

God damn. They gotta treat Alvarez like everyone treated Bonds in 04. Just walk the dude. #Mariners

I have a 100% miss rate with care.com. Every one of them has bombed out on me within 5 minutes of a start time. I cannot find reliable childcare for the life of me and it’s killing me.

Fuck.

Today, as I prep to listen to game 1 of the ALDS, I am reminded of being introduced during ScotlandJS 2018. I was (politely) dragged for being a fan of the Mariners (who had, at the time, been in the longest playoff drought in the three major US professional men's sports).

Seeing NBA basketball in Seattle was nostalgic and fun but it wasn’t the SeattleSonics and it was disappointing that the rumors weren’t true about the announcement

Ah, yes, chat program I am forced to use. The obvious thing I want to do when I click on a file that is uploaded by a colleague is open it within the chat program itself -- thus losing all context and ability to talk about the file. This is for sure the correct default behavior.

My favorite moment when I’m using a website is when they have some sort of metric tracker on all of their interactions and then one of those requests drops and I can’t make a simple change because the thread gets blocked. Super good world we have made out there. Good job, us.
