The most complicated part about running a company/org is internal comms. You have to get the messaging right and you have to get it timed well and you have to be in lock step with other leadership on it. This is the part that always bites it hardest when a company is spiraling.

People are, for the most part, capable of taking hard news. They really are. Adults that you treat like adults are frequently about as good as it gets for this. Blow it on that and lose the humanity? Toast.

Decide to wait until you have the whole of everything in a perfectly processed and sanitized manner? Toast.

So, if you're caught in the middle of an HR disaster, or if a division of your corp is caught union busting, or if you have a mass exodus in protest of leadership... Remember that your flubbing of internal comms is the part that will ring out loudest and make everything worse
