      1. Teaching people (and reminding myself) to delegate certain tasks is one of the best development skills I can work on with basically anybody. For me, it always cracks on “Who will be held accountable?” vs “Who is responsible?”

      If the person being held accountable feels out of control or like they can’t find anybody else to make responsible, you’re in big trouble. The tired is coming and it’s coming for everyone.

    So these days I jump to exit plans. “How do I get out of being the person who is both of these? How do I exit my current role and head to the ideal version of my position?” Or “If I were to try to hire somebody into my spot, what would I need to do to not feel bad for that?”
