        1. On those people: Turn-arounds are hard and risky. Most of the time, they fail. It’s a very rare thing to walk in and make them work. That being said, you don’t take victory laps when you bomb and you don’t throw previous people under the bus, especially when you fail.

        If you manage to walk into a situation where a grossly underfunded team had worked themselves into the ground for years because of a “mission” and then after leadership destroys their morale publicly and illegally, you join anyway, and you decide to shit on employees, just wow

      I don’t grasp the mentality or the cognitive dissonance involved. You came in and tried to change things up to match what fits your style and that’s expected, but the company was clearly worth more and had happier people BEFORE you joined. Your time as a leader was a failure.

    Stop. Take the loss. Maybe it was too far in the deep before you joined (it was) but the reasoning for that is grossly more complex than you’re seeing and honestly your joining at the time you did is representative of your values more than you might think
